I would strongly encourage anyone, athletes in particular, to check out Quest University Canada. For me, it is a phenominal place of learning with a great atmosphere and a rigorous program.
For all those interested, here is a link to my Facebook Fan page. Even if you do not have Facebook this link should work! (aka let me know if it doesn’t)
This week I have been training in the terrain park on Blackcomb. What we have been doing is picking a jump, going off it and then hiking back up to do it again (all day). As you can imagine it is very tiring! I am now full time with the BC Skier Cross team and we are working on our jump and start technique this week. It’s tough training but these are two of the major components in a Skier Cross competition and I am having a lot of fun.
I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays! For those like me, no rest for the wicked, train on!

Training camp in Tignes France
Before I went to France I knew that this training camp was going to make my season. I had ample time to work on skiing tactics and technique as well as an opportunity to take advantage of living and training between 2150m and 3500m elevation.
I was in France with coaches Mike Lewis (Head coach, Team Supreme) and Mike Osatiuk (Red Mountain Racers) and athletes Cory Canart and Ross Nevison. Tiziana Perni was my conditioning coach during this camp. Spending six weeks in France at one place really can get quite long, but I made the most of it. I focused on rebuilding my technique and getting it to a level where I am ready to race with high consistency. My secondary focus was increasing my speed, agility and power. When we got there, I get a full pass to the gym/pool/spa facilities and went nearly every day. We had a few ‘weather days’ or shorter training session and I used them to hit the gym hard. Other days when we had on-snow training all day or on a long training block I used the hot tubs and steam room to help my body recover so that I can come out day after day and get the most out of training. I had a lot of fun and learned a lot.
