Biography
My name is Sven Winter and my passion is racing Ski Cross. My goal? To become the 2010 Olympic Champion for Skicross in my hometown, Vancouver/ Whistler BC. Currently I am ranked in the top 10 in Canada and 14th in the World for my age. I was also named ‘BC Skicross Athlete of the Year’ for 2009. Winning the Olympics has been my life-long dream. I will win at the Olympics and make my country proud.
The 2010 Olympics are here and I have a shot at winning it. In a post season training camp with the Canadian National Team I won time trials. To put that in to perspective the Canadian team won the ‘Freestyle overall title’ this year. I am training smarter than ever before to push myself ahead of my competition. I still need to qualify for the team and will do so early next winter.
The average age on the Canadian National Team is 29 years old. As the only 21 year old Canadian gunning for 2010 I have the advantage that I have 3 Olympics ahead of me. This is the first time Skicross is in the Olympics and it’s in my hometown so I am pushing as hard as I can to pull out in front of my competition. This is where I want to make my Olympic début. I also have a strait path towards 2014 Olympics which will be in Russia. One way or another I’m going to win the Olympics. I want to win for Canada and make my country proud. I will be honored to represent Canada and win the 2010 Olympics.
